The Office of Building, Zoning and Planning Administration and Enforcement shall act as the administrative and enforcement agency for and shall coordinate the administration and enforcement of all laws of the State of New York and all local laws and ordinances of the Town of Orangetown relating to building construction, building operation and building maintenance. This shall include but shall not necessarily be limited to administration and enforcement of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code as applicable in the Town of Orangetown, the demolition of buildings, the Minimum Housing Standards Code, the Unsafe Buildings and Collapsed Structures Ordinance,[1] the ordinance relating to the construction and maintenance of swimming pools,[2] the ordinance relating to watercourse diversion,[3] the administration and enforcement of the Land Development Regulations[4] and the Zoning Code of the Town of Orangetown.[5] In addition, this office shall serve as the administrative and enforcement agency for and coordinate the functions of the Planning Board, the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Architecture and Community Appearance Board of Review, the Shade Tree Commission, the Orangetown Historic Areas Board of Review, the Citizens Zoning Advisory Committee and such other boards, agencies and advisory committees as may hereafter be created by the Town of Orangetown dealing with planning and zoning in the Town.
