This program is provided to allow County nonprobationary employees
the opportunity to improve/upgrade their knowledge and skills to enable
them to better execute their specific job responsibilities.
The County will reimburse 100% of authorized educational expenses
upon presentation of proof of successful completion (a grade of "C"
or better) of course requirements and receipts and/or canceled checks
showing payment of approved costs. This amount shall not exceed $300
for an employee in a fiscal year. [NOTE: Authorized educational expenses
shall include only registration, tuition and laboratory fees.]
Any employee who receives this benefit must remain a County
employee for at least one year after completing the course or reimburse
the County on a pro rata basis.
The County Administrator or his designee will certify that the
proposed course of study is job-related.
Each department head must request training funds in his particular
budget.
Hours during which the course is taken must not conflict with
the employee's working hours.
