An "industrial discharge" or "industrial waste" shall have the same
meaning as provided for in the GBMSD Ordinance, as amended from time
to time. "Restaurant waste" shall be the waste from users as defined
under § 386-6 of this chapter.
Each person discharging industrial waste into the public sewers of
the Village shall comply with all applicable provisions of the GBMSD
Ordinance. No person shall discharge any industrial or restaurant
waste that contains substances or possesses characteristics that are
detrimental to the Village sewerage collection system. In such event,
the Village Board may impose any of the alternatives provided for
in the GBMSD Ordinance, as amended from time to time.
Pretreatment interceptor requirements. Grease, oil and sand interceptors
shall be provided, installed, and maintained at the owner's expense
when, in the opinion of the Director of Public Works or designee,
they are necessary for the proper handling of such wastes, except
that such interceptors shall not be required for private living quarters
or dwelling units. All interceptors shall be of a type and capacity
approved by State Plumbing Code, and shall be located so as to be
readily and easily accessible for cleaning and inspection. In the
maintaining of these interceptors, the owner shall be responsible
for the proper removal and disposal, by appropriate means, of the
captured material, and shall maintain records of the dates and means
of disposal, which are subject to review by the Director of Public
Works or designee. Any removal and handling of the collected materials
not performed by the owner's personnel must be performed by currently
licensed waste disposal firms.
Each person discharging industrial waste into a public sewer shall

to facilitate observation, measurement, and sampling their waste,
including domestic sewage.
Control manholes or access facilities shall be located and built

If measuring devices are to be permanently installed, they shall be
of a type acceptable to GBMSD.
Control manholes, access facilities and related equipment shall be
installed by the person discharging industrial waste, at their expense,
and shall be maintained by the person discharging the waste so as
to be in safe condition at all times. Plans for installation of the
control manholes or access facilities and related equipment shall
be approved by the GBMSD Ordinance prior to the beginning of construction.
Wastewater flow measurements, sampling and reporting shall be
done in accordance with the GBMSD Ordinance, as amended from time
to time.
