The Town of Windsor Locks, acting herein by Town Meeting, authorizes
and empowers the Tax Collector of the Town of Windsor Locks to enact
the following for the recovery of DMV expenses as recommended by the
Board of Selectmen: Pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes § 7-148(c)
and § 12-166, the Windsor Locks Tax Collector shall, in
addition to all interest, charges, fees and penalties otherwise provided
by law, add and collect to each tax account $1 for each motor vehicle
tax bill delinquency reported to the Connecticut Department of Motor
Vehicles. This fee shall be enforceable in any manner allowed by law
for the collection of delinquent taxes and must be paid before such
tax is deemed to have been satisfied.
