The owner of a structure within the Borough of Morris Plains
having a sprinkler or standpipe connection, either attached to or
within five feet of said structure, shall be required to install,
maintain and illuminate a weatherproof light fixture containing a
one-hundred-watt light source, red in color, mounted on the structure
in the immediate vicinity of the sprinkler or standpipe connection
at a height of seven feet above the connection. The exact final placement
and design of the light fixture shall be set forth on plans submitted
to the Fire Department of the Borough of Morris Plains and approved
by the Borough Fire Prevention Official.

The owner of any structure in the Borough of Morris Plains served
by sprinkler and/or standpipe connections that are remotely located
at a distance in excess of five feet from the building shall cause
to be placed, maintained and illuminated a freestanding light fixture
containing a one-hundred-watt light source, red in color, immediately
behind the fixture at a height of four feet. The exact final placement
and design of the light fixture shall be set forth on plans submitted
to the Fire Department of the Borough of Morris Plains and approved
by the Borough Fire Prevention Official.

In certain cases, based upon extraordinary circumstances, the
Borough Fire Prevention Official shall have the right to grant a waiver
of the requirements imposed by this article on an individual basis;
however, some other form of substitute identification shall be required.

The owner of any structure in the Borough of Morris Plains which
falls within the requirements of this article shall cause the structure
to be brought into compliance within 90 days from receipt of written
notice from the Borough Fire Prevention Official.

Failure to comply with the provisions of this article may result
in the imposition of such fines as may be levied pursuant to and for
a violation of the Uniform Fire Prevention Code.
