The Borough Engineer is hereby authorized and instructed to
prepare, within 30 days from the passage of this chapter, plans for
the numbering of the houses on the several streets, avenues, etc.,
of the Borough in such manner as to procure uniformity in the numbering
thereof.
It shall be the duty of the Borough Engineer to furnish each
householder, owner or occupant of any house a certificate of the correct
number of said house, and he shall immediately, upon the completion
of said plan, deliver a copy thereof to the Borough Clerk, who shall
thereupon give notice of the same by publication in the official paper
of the Borough.
It shall be the duty of the owner or occupant of each house
abutting on said streets, etc., within 90 days from the publication
of said plan as aforesaid, to affix the number of said house thereto,
using metal or porcelain numbers of not less than 3 1/2 inches
in height, or by painting same on transom of such house. When any
new building is erected within the limits of the Borough, it shall
be the duty of the owner thereof to affix the proper number thereto
as aforesaid within 60 days after the completion of same.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision
of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay
a fine of not more than $600 and costs or, in default of payment thereof,
shall be subject to imprisonment for a term not to exceed 30 days.
Each day that a violation of this chapter continues shall constitute
a separate offense.
