The office of Township Manager is hereby created for Penn Township,
York County, Pennsylvania.
The Manager shall be appointed by a majority of all the members
of the Board of Commissioners, and he shall serve until the first
Monday of January of the even-numbered year succeeding his election
or until his successor qualifies.
The Manager shall be chosen principally on the basis of his
executive and administrative abilities, with special reference to
his actual experience in or his knowledge of accepted practices in
respect to the duties of his office, as herein outlined. For descriptive
purposes, the male gender shall include the female gender.

The Manager, if requested by the Board of Commissioners, shall
give a bond to the Township, with a surety company or other company
authorized by law to act as surety, to be approved by the Commissioners
in the amount as determined by the Board of Commissioners conditioned
for the faithful performance of his duties. The premium for said bond
shall be paid for by the Township.
The salary of the Township Manager shall be established by the
Board of Commissioners from time to time.

If the Manager becomes ill or needs to be absent from the Township,
the Assistant Township Manager shall perform the duties of the Manager
during his disability or absence. If the Assistant Township Manager
is unable to fulfill the duties, the Board of Commissioners shall
appoint a qualified person until such time as the Manager returns.
