Except as otherwise specifically provided in this chapter, the statutory provisions of § 346.02(10), Wis. Stats., and Ch. 350, Wis. Stats., as permitted under § 350.18(2), Wis. Stats., are hereby adopted regarding the operation of snowmobiles within the City.[1]

A. 
The purpose of this section is to allow ingress and egress from the several sections of the City only and not for recreational purposes.
B. 
Snowmobiles may be operated on all City streets, with the following exceptions:
(1) 
Bridge Street, from the intersection of Water Street.
(2) 
John Street, from the intersection of Main Street to the intersection of High Street.
(3) 
State Highway 44, except that it may be operated on to cross a bridge, culvert or right-of-way or to otherwise travel directly across.
C. 
General.
(1) 
No snowmobile shall be operated prior to 7:00 a.m. or after 10:00 p.m. on any City street. However, residents outside the City limits and nonresidents inside the City limits may make one ingress or egress trip during said hours.
(2) 
No snowmobile shall be parked on any streets, City parking lots, alleys or other City property not intended for vehicular use, except snowmobiles shall be permitted to park in the City parking lot located at the intersection of John Street and Main Street. However, overnight parking of snowmobiles in the City parking lot is prohibited.

No person shall drive or operate a snowmobile on any private property without the consent or permission of the property owner.[1]

No owner or person having charge or control of a snowmobile shall authorize or permit any person to operate such snowmobile who is not permitted under state law to operate such snowmobile, or who is under the influence of an intoxicant or a dangerous or narcotic drug.
Section 346.63, Wis. Stats., shall apply to the operation of a snowmobile any place within the City.
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this article shall be subject to a forfeiture as provided in § 1-3 of the Code of the City of Markesan.
Pursuant to § 350.047, Wis. Stats., the Clerk-Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to send a copy of this article to the Department of Natural Resources, the Police Department and the County Sheriff's Department.
