[Ord. 81-2, 1/28/1981, § 1]
The Township of Susquehanna is hereby divided into nine wards for the purposes of all general municipal elections and all other purposes required by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
[Ord. 81-2, 1/28/1981, § 2]
The descriptions of each ward are attached hereto as exhibits one through nine and are adopted by this Board and incorporated herein by reference as if stated fully, completely, verbatim and at length.
[Ord. 81-2, 1/28/1981, § 3]
In the primary and general elections of 1981, it is the intent that the term of office for the Commissioner for the newly created 8th ward shall be for a four year term and the Commissioner for the newly created 9th ward for a two year term so that the existing system of elections for odd numbered and even numbered wards will be preserved.
[Ord. 81-2, 1/28/1981, § 4]
In accordance with existing law, all Commissioners of the Township presently serving in office shall retain their offices until the end of their terms.
[Ord. 81-2, 1/28/1981, § 5]
The effective date of this Part 7 shall be its date of enactment, [January 28, 1981] except that with any newly created wards this Part shall be interpreted and its date of enactment shall be construed so as to eliminate any need to appoint any persons to a vacancy in any office, it being the intent of the governing body that such offices shall be filled initially by the normal elective processes.
