The Town shall establish and maintain a fire department within
its limits.

The Fire Department shall consist of volunteer companies and
paid companies and shall be maintained with such equipment as the
Board of Fire Commissioners shall deem necessary.
The Board of Fire Commissioners shall make regulations for the
Fire Department and the organization of volunteer fire companies and
may appoint officers and employees of the Fire Department. The Board
of Fire Commissioners shall have such other powers as are provided
in the General Statutes.
