A. There
is hereby established in the City of Byrnes Mill, the position of
Code Enforcement Officer.
B. The Code
Enforcement Officer of the City of Byrnes Mill, is authorized to receive
complaints on all ordinance violations committed within the City including,
but not limited to violation of nuisance ordinances, zoning ordinances,
Building Code ordinances, dog ordinances, junk car ordinances, and
health ordinances.
C. The Code
Enforcement Officer is authorized to issue summons for violations
of any ordinances committed in the presence of the Code Enforcement
Officer but the Code Enforcement Officer is not authorized and shall
not have any powers of arrest. The Code Enforcement Officer shall
also have the power to serve subpoenas and summons within the City
of Byrnes Mill issued by the Mayor, Board of Alderpersons or Municipal
Judge of the City of Byrnes Mill, or any other administrative official
within the City of Byrnes Mill having authority to issue subpoenas
and summons.
D. The Code
Enforcement Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor of the City of
Byrnes Mill, with the consent and approval of the majority of the
members of the Board of Alderpersons and shall be removed from office
by the Mayor with the consent and approval of the majority of the
members of the Board of Alderpersons.
