All work must conform to the applicable standards referenced
in this chapter and shall be completed in a good and workmanlike manner.
Material specifications shall conform to PennDOT Pub. 408 and ASTM
Standards. Placement and finishing shall adhere to ACI Standards.
No curbs, sidewalks or driveway aprons shall be constructed
or reconstructed to any lines or grades other than those approved
by the Borough official.
It is the responsibility of anyone performing excavation to
notify all utilities prior to any excavation. Anyone performing excavation
must call 1-800-242-1776 or 8-1-1 and obtain a dig number and provide
the dig number to the Department at least three days prior to the
start of work.
Roads may not be closed or obstructed without prior consent
of the Lansdale Borough Police Department. All work must be staged,
scheduled and completed so as to cause the least disruption to vehicular
and pedestrian traffic. A request for road closing must be provided,
in writing, to the Lansdale Borough Police Department, with a copy
to the Department of Community Development, a minimum of 48 hours
prior to any road closing. The Chief of Police may, in his sole discretion,
grant or deny any request for road closing. In the event of a road
closing, traffic control devices must be provided in accordance with
PennDOT Pub. 408 wherever required by the Borough official and/or
Chief of Police. When traffic control devices are required, the Borough
official may, in his or her sole discretion, require a plan showing
compliance with PennDOT Pub. 408.
Roadways may be cut and excavated only to the extent required
to perform work. Roadway paving must be saw cut. When construction
is complete, the excavated area shall be filled with 2A modified stone.
Paving shall be performed by the Borough unless otherwise directed.
