SERVICE POINT

A.
General. The furnishing of electric current to customers of the Borough of Lansdale shall be subject to all of the provisions of this chapter. This chapter shall be considered as incorporated by reference in every contract for service, including, without limitation, electric service supplied to a customer by the Borough. The failure of the Borough to enforce any provisions of this chapter shall not be deemed a waiver of its right to do so.
B.
Single meter service. The Borough will undertake to furnish service to a building or a group of buildings for use only in or on the premises owned, leased to, occupied, or managed by the customer. Each such building, or in the case of residential building, each dwelling unit, apartment or single-family residence shall be metered separately and considered a separate service. Adjoining nonresidential buildings or nonresidential groups of buildings located on a single or contiguous land parcel may receive service through a single meter, provided that the customer furnishes the necessary electrical interconnection among the buildings or units approved by the Borough; and said buildings or units are used and operated by the customer, and held out to the public, as one single business. Any intervening lease or other transfer of ownership shall prohibit single meter service.
C.
No extension across public spaces. Customer shall not extend electrical facilities across public space to supply electricity to other properties. Master metering to new multifamily dwellings units is prohibited.
D.
Responsibility for electrical connections. Customer shall conform to any and all requirements for connections to the electrical supply lines of the Borough, including, without limitation, the requirements which are established by the Borough of Lansdale Electric Service and Meter Installation Requirements.
E.
Electrical service. Failure to obtain or maintain electrical service to a residential customer shall deem the residential customer location unfit for human habitation and shall further render the residential structure as dangerous and unsafe, regardless of whether the residential customer location is a dwelling unit, single-family residence, boarding room in a boardinghouse, apartment or dwelling unit in a multifamily residential structure.
F.
Right to refuse or discontinue service. The Borough reserves the right to refuse to supply or to discontinue the supply of electricity until such time as an applicant shall conform to the requirements of this chapter and the Borough's applicable ordinances and service requirements.
