The customer shall consult with the Borough with regard to the requirements
of the size of motor and starting current limitations, as well as
the voltage and phase of service which will be required.
B.Â
The Borough reserves the right to refuse service or to require operational
modifications to single phase motors rated five horsepower or more
and to polyphase motors and installations rated 25 horsepower or more.
C.Â
Motors larger than 25 horsepower shall be of the slip ring or equivalent
type and shall be provided with starting equipment which will avoid
excessive starting current.
Motors larger than 100 horsepower shall, where practicable,
be of the synchronous or equivalent type.
Motors used on one-hundred-twenty-volt circuits shall not be
larger than 1/2 horsepower.
Motors of 3/4 horsepower and one horsepower shall be connected
for 240 volts.
