The purpose of this position is to provide the Village of Bosque Farms with supplementary clerical support services to the Clerk/Administrator. This position functions under the supervision of the Clerk/Administrator and is intended to provide support to all areas of Village business as assigned.
The Assistant Village Clerk:
A. 
Is responsible for processing the utility billing and maintaining the records.
B. 
Handles customer concerns related to the utility billing.
C. 
Performs routine clerical duties, to include: incoming and outgoing mail; maintaining Village records; and typing of general correspondence as needed by the Clerk/Administrator and/or Mayor.
D. 
Provides assistance in searching records and files as needed to meet informational needs of the public, staff and governing body.
E. 
Develops correspondence, announcements, reports and other Village material for the public, staff and governing body as required.
F. 
Performs duties of the Village Clerk as assigned.
G. 
Assists in answering phones and front desk duties as required.
H. 
Performs other duties as assigned.
The minimum requirements for the Assistant Village Clerk are:
A. 
High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years' accounting experience.
B. 
Ability to type 50 words per minute.
C. 
Ability to work with several types of computer software.
D. 
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, staff and governing body.

The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk and hear. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stoop, kneel and crouch.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
There will be a six-month probationary period, at which time an evaluation of job performance will be conducted and discussed with the employee. At this time, the employee will be either made a regular employee, be allowed to continue on probationary period, not to exceed one year total, or be terminated based on evaluation results.
