For purposes of this Article "major case squad" means formation, operation, organization or cooperative action between
any County Governing Body and the Governing Body of any municipality,
the purpose of which is intensive professional investigation of a
certain individual crime which has occurred in their general geographical
area and which is operated and activated upon the request of the County
Sheriff or Police Chief of the political subdivision in which the
crime occurred.

The officers of the City of Frontenac Police Department are
authorized to participate in and cooperate with any Law Enforcement
Officers of jurisdictions in major case squad operation, formation
or organization. Those officers designated to act as members of a
major case squad operation shall be so designated by the Chief of
Police and, when acting outside the City of Frontenac as members of
a major case squad operation, shall be considered as on active duty
as though acting within the scope of their regular duties within the
City of Frontenac.
