The purpose of this article shall be to provide for the imposition
and collection of fees to be charged to the owner of record of each
property within the Borough, as reflected in the tax office, for the
collection and disposal of solid waste.

Each owner of real property shall pay to the Borough a quarterly
solid waste collection and disposal fee of $30. Each quarterly payment
shall be due no later than the due date for the payment of quarterly
water/sewer bills. Any bills not paid when due shall be subject to
a late charge of 1 1/2% per month or 18% annually. Any bills paid
within the first two months of the calendar year, where a payment
is made in advance for the full year, shall receive a discount of
5%.
The failure to pay the solid waste collection and disposal fee
shall result in a lien being imposed upon the property. The Borough
may elect to collect payment through the mechanism of a tax sale or
by commencing an action in the Superior Court. Upon successful outcome
of any litigation by the Borough, the owner shall be responsible for
any costs of suit, as well as reasonable attorney’s fees and
interest.
This article shall be effective as of July 1, 2012, so that
the first payment will be due on the date that the payment of third-quarter
real estate property taxes shall be due.
