From and after the passage of this article, the City Administrator
shall appoint a competent person as Health Officer, having all the
powers and duties now prescribed by law. The Health Officer will enforce
all applicable public health ordinances and licenses of the City and
will assist the City Code Enforcement Officer in instances where Property
Maintenance Code violations are deemed to affect public health. The
Officer will be overseen by the City Administrator and City Board
of Health.
The Health Officer's salary shall be set by the City Administrator
within the appropriation set forth in the annual budget, and he shall
hold office during the pleasure of the Council.
All fees which shall be collected or received by said Officer
in his official capacity shall be paid over to the City Treasurer
monthly, together with all penalties which shall be received for the
violation of any ordinance or regulation.
