The term of office of elective Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Montgomery shall be four years. Such four-year term shall commence on the first day of January following the first biennial Town election after the effective date of this article.
At the biennial Town election next following the effective date of this article, and every four years thereafter, the Superintendent of Highways shall be elected for four years.
This article shall supersede, in its application to the Town of Montgomery, § 24 of the Town Law of New York State with respect to the term of office of the elective Superintendent of Highways.
This article shall be submitted for approval to the electors of the Town of Montgomery at the next general Town election to be held on November 6, 2012.[1]
