As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
PEDDLERS AND HAWKERS
Any person who sells or offers for sale at wholesale, retail
or as a commission merchant, or barters or exchanges any goods, wares,
merchandise or fruit or vegetables traveling from place to place along
or upon the streets or alleys of the City, or at the doors of houses,
apartments or stores, or who offers for sale or sells and delivers
immediately from a vehicle or stand.
It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business
of hawker or peddler of any merchandise, article or thing without
having a license therefor.
Applications for such licenses shall state thereon the number
of vehicles, if any, intended to be operated; the kind of article
or merchandise to be peddled; and the permanent address of the peddler.

Fees for peddlers' licenses shall be set from time to time by
the City Council.
No peddler or hawker shall be guilty of any fraud, cheating
or misrepresentation, whether through himself or through an employee,
while acting as a peddler in the City or shall barter, sell or peddle
any goods, wares or merchandise other than those specified in his
application for a license.
