Town of Stockport, NY Article IV Weight Limits

§ 112-8 Statutory authority.

This article is adopted pursuant to the authority granted the Town of Stockport under § 1660 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

§ 112-9 Vehicle weight limitations.

A. All vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of over 20 tons (40,000 pounds) are prohibited from traveling on Fitting Road.

B. Vehicles making local deliveries, emergency service, and public utility vehicles are exempted from this article.

§ 112-10 Penalties for offenses.

A violation of this article shall be an offense punishable by a fine of up to $500.

§ 112-11 Effective date.

This article shall take effect upon filing in the office of the Secretary of State in accordance with Municipal Home Rule Law § 27 and upon the posting by the Town of signs at both ends of Fitting Road stating the weight limitations contained in this article.
