The fire limits of the City shall consist of the territory described
as follows:
Beginning at a point at the eastern line of the Public Service
Company right-of-way (abandoned) with the northern limits of University
City; thence westwardly along the northern City limits of University
City to a point one hundred fifty (150) feet east of the east line
of Walton Road; thence northwardly along a line one hundred fifty
(150) feet east of and parallel to the east of Walton Road to the
intersection of the aforesaid line with the northern line of the St.
Louis Public Service Company right-of-way (abandoned); thence southeastwardly
along the northeastern line of the Public Service Company right-of-way
(abandoned) to the centerline of Eads Avenue; thence southwardly along
the eastern line of the Public Service Company right-of-way (abandoned)
to the point of beginning.

A. No
building or structure of frame construction or unprotected metal construction
shall be erected hereafter within the fire limits, except as otherwise
provided for in this Chapter.
B. Wooden
shingle roofing is prohibited within the fire limits.

A. Within
the fire limits the following provisions shall apply:
1. Height. No building or structure of frame construction
or of unprotected metal construction shall be hereafter increased
in height.
2. Extension and additions — frame, etc., buildings, etc. No building or structure of frame construction or of unprotected
metal construction, except single-family dwellings, shall be hereafter
extended on any side, unless the construction of such extension conforms
to the requirements of this Chapter for new construction; provided,
that the area of the building as extended shall not exceed the allowable
area for frame construction.
3. Ice houses, water tanks, etc. Coal tipples, ice
houses, material bins, trestles and water tanks when built of planking
and timbers of the dimensions specified for heavy timber construction.
4. Fences. Fences not exceeding six (6) feet in height; except, that fences penetrated with openings for at least fifty percent (50%) of the surface area may be eight (8) feet high. Solid fences or fences penetrated with openings if used for commercial or industrial purposes only may be ten (10) feet high; provided however, that no fences shall be constructed in a front yard as defined in Chapter
405, Section
405.010 of this Code.
5. Display signs. Display signs as provided in this
Chapter.
6. Prefabricated homes for display. Prefabricated homes
for commercial display and sales purposes only in areas where commercial
enterprises are allowed by other ordinances; provided, that no such
house or home shall remain erected for more than two (2) years and
that a penal bond, in an amount prescribed by the Board, be presented
with the application for the building permit, such bond to be conditioned
on removal within two (2) years and that such house or home will not
be used as a dwelling.

A. Code Adopted. The County Explosives Code through date of
last amendatory ordinance passed by the County on November 12, 1997,
as the City of Vinita Park Explosives Code, is hereby adopted by reference.
Three (3) copies of the Code adopted herein are on file in the office
of the City Clerk for public use and inspection.
B. Enforcement By County Officials. As per contract or agreement with the City, the County Department of Public Works will be responsible for the enforcement of the Explosives Code adopted in Subsection
(A) of this Section. Said contract and terms thereof are attached to Ordinance No. 877 of the City and made a part hereof by this reference. Three (3) copies of Ordinance No. 877 and the contract attached thereto are on file in the office of the City Clerk for public use and inspection.
