It shall not be lawful to commence any construction, alteration, removal or demolition of a building or structure without first filing with the Building Commissioner an application in writing and obtaining a formal building permit. Before a building permit is issued, a building permit fee shall be paid to the City of Overland in accordance with the following tables:
Building Valuation | Building Permit Fees | |
|---|---|---|
The Building Commissioner may waive a permit fee and not require the issuance of a building permit, where, in his/her judgment, no inspection may be required and where, a homeowner is making a non-structural change involving his/her own labor and a material cost of less than five hundred dollars ($500.00) | ||
Less than $1,000.00 | $50.00 | |
Plus $5.00 for each $1,000.00 or fraction thereof over the first $1,000.00 | ||
Normal inspection fees are included in the above schedule of building permit fees, however, where, in the judgment of the Building Commissioner, additional inspections are required and/or where inspections are called for by the contractor, but the work is found not ready for inspection and/or where the work fails to pass inspection and a re-inspection is required, then an additional ten dollars ($10.00) per such inspection will be made and must be paid before an occupancy permit is issued. |
