A. 
The Ridgewood Green Team, a group of residents dedicated to the sustainability of the Village of Ridgewood, is hereby established as an advisory committee to the Ridgewood Village Council.
B. 
The Ridgewood Green Team shall be a subcommittee of the Green Ridgewood Committee.

The general purposes for the Green Ridgewood Committee, Green Team subcommittee, shall include, but not be limited to:
A. 
Facilitating the successful completion of the requirements for certification of Sustainable Jersey and pursuing the goals and objectives of Sustainable Jersey.

B. 
Educating and encouraging all Village residents, employees, and businesses to participate in green initiatives.
C. 
Collaborating with public and private green teams and green committees to ensure the replication of best practices and to ensure a coordinated effort in the Village of Ridgewood and its neighboring communities.
A. 
The Village Council of the Village of Ridgewood shall appoint 10 members to serve as the Ridgewood Green Team. This membership shall include one student intern who is a resident of the Village of Ridgewood; one Village Council member; one member of the staff of the Village of Ridgewood; and seven Ridgewood residents, all of whom shall be voting members.

B. 
The Ridgewood Green Team shall elect from its members a Chairperson, on an annual basis, who shall not be a Village Council member.

Editor's Note: Former Subsection C, regarding a member of Village Council appointed as a liaison to the Ridgewood Green Team, as amended 9-11-2019 by Ord. No. 3740, was repealed 4-12-2023 by Ord. No. 3948.
D. 
The Ridgewood Green Team members shall be residents of the Village of Ridgewood, with the exception of the staff member, who may or may not be a resident of the Village of Ridgewood.
E. 
The term of office of the seven Ridgewood resident members of the Ridgewood Green Team shall be for staggered three-year terms. Initially, three members shall be appointed to a three-year term; two members shall be appointed to a two-year term; and two members shall be appointed to a one-year term. The terms for the members shall terminate on December 31 of each year.

F. 
The staff member and the Village Council liaison shall each be appointed for one-year terms, terminating on December 31 of each year. The student intern, who is a resident of the Village of Ridgewood, shall serve for the school year, September through June.

The Ridgewood Green Team shall meet at least quarterly. Additional meetings of the Ridgewood Green Team may be scheduled by the Chair at his/her discretion.
