The parking provisions of the ordinances of the Borough of North
East covering the parking of motor vehicles shall be enforced by persons
employed by the Borough of North East and being known as and designated
as a "parking attendant."
A North East Borough parking attendant shall have all the powers
and duties necessary for the enforcement of the parking ordinances
and regulations of the Borough of North East.
The parking attendant or attendants shall be commissioned as
such by the Mayor of the Borough of North East, and the Mayor of the
Borough shall have full charge and control of the parking attendant
or attendants. The Mayor may delegate supervision of the parking attendant
or attendants to the Chief of Police of the police force of the Borough
of North East.
The Borough Council shall fix and determine the compensation
and the total weekly hours of employment that shall apply to the parking
attendant or attendants.
The parking attendant or attendants, while on duty, shall wear
such insignia as will publicly designate them as such and shall not
carry side arms.
The provisions of this article shall not be in derogation of
the powers and duties of the North East police force.
