A. The
position of City Utility Person is hereby created. The City Utility
Person shall serve at the pleasure of the Board and can be discharged
at any time without cause by a majority vote of a quorum of the Board.
The City Utility Person's job responsibilities include, but are not
limited to, the following:
1. Posting and removing public notices throughout the City;
2. Placing or installing mobile signs and barriers as necessary;
3. Make nuisance violation inceptions (e.g., grass and weed growth,
weeds and other noxious undergrowth, trash in yards, animal violations,
noise and light intrusion, etc.) and report facts;
4. Respond to complaints, including investigating, photographing, filing
reports and follow through;
5. City Hall utility work: Make minor repairs, replace lights as needed,
maintain mobile sign inventory, move tables, chairs as necessary to
set up for meetings, and other tasks;
6. As requested, make trips to post office, office supply store, or
deliver items;
7. Such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

The position shall be on an as needed basis at an hourly rate
as set by the Board of Aldermen with a minimum of one (1) hour. Any
increments of an hour after the first (1st) hour shall be paid at
one-fourth (¼), one-half (½) and three-fourths (¾)
hour increments. The City Utility Person shall keep a log of time
on each task. If several tasks occur on the same day, the City Utility
Person shall show the starting and ending time on each task. If the
tasks are consecutive on the same day, then the time should be kept
from the start of the first (1st) task to the end of the last task.
The City Utility Person shall be entitled to mileage reimbursal at
the rate of thirty-two and one-half cents ($.325) a mile (or at the
rate as may be paid from time to time by the City) and shall keep
a record of same and file a mileage report once a month for use of
personal vehicle. The City Utility Person is required to have, at
all times, a valid driver's license and motor vehicle insurance covering
the person and the personal vehicle to be used.
