A. The
Board of Aldermen does hereby create the position of Administrative
Assistant. The City may employ one (1) or more Administrative Assistants
from time to time as the Board of Aldermen believes appropriate. The
Administrative Assistant position is not a City Official subject to
the laws of the City or the State of Missouri pertaining to elected
or appointed officials. The Administrative Assistant position shall
be subject to the following requirements:

1. Hiring. The Administrative Assistant shall be employed
upon the recommendation of the City Administrator/City Clerk and approval
by a majority of the full Board of Aldermen. The Administrative Assistant
shall report directly to and be supervised by the City Administrator/
City Clerk. The Administrative Assistant is not a City Official subject
to the laws of the City or the State of Missouri pertaining to elected
or appointed officials.
2. Duties. The Administrative Assistant will perform
duties as directed by the Mayor and/or City Administrator/City Clerk
including, but not limited to, assisting the City Administrator/City
Clerk in the administrative functions of the City, taking and transcribing
the minutes of the meetings of the Board of Aldermen and Planning
and Zoning Commission in the absence of the City Clerk, typing and
posting the agendas for the meetings of the Board of Aldermen and
Planning and Zoning Commission in the absence of the City Clerk, being
familiar with City Codes, and performing the clerical duties of the
Clerical Assistant in his/her absence. An Administrative Assistant
may also hold the position of Deputy City Clerk.
3. Compensation. The Administrative Assistant shall
receive such compensation and work such hours as set by ordinance
by the Board of Aldermen.
