A. In order to regulate and control the design, construction, quality
of materials, erection, installation, alteration, repair, location,
relocation, replacement, addition to, use or maintenance of one- and
two-family dwellings and townhouses, except for such portions as are
herein modified, added, deleted or amended within this Chapter, the
International Residential Code, 2018 Edition, is hereby adopted and
shall be incorporated as if fully set forth herein and shall be hereafter
known as the "Residential Code" of the City of Maryville, Missouri,
including the following appendixes:

Appendix A — Sizing and Capabilities of Gas Piping;
2.
Appendix B — Sizing and Venting Systems Serving Appliances
Equipped with Draft Hoods, Category One Appliances and Appliances
Listed for Use in Type B Vents;
3.
Appendix C — Exit Terminals of Mechanical Draft and Direct-Vent
Venting Systems;
4.
Appendix D — Recommended Procedure for Safety Inspection
of an Existing Appliance Installation;
5.
Appendix E — Manufactured Housing Used as Dwellings;

7.
Appendix G — Piping Standards for Various Applications;

9.

A. The International Building Code, 2018 Edition, as adopted as the
Residential Code of the City of Maryville, is hereby subject to the
following insertions:
1.
Section R101.1. The term "City of Maryville" shall be inserted.
2.
Wherever a reference is made to "jurisdiction" within the International
Residential Code, 2018 Edition, it shall be understood to mean the
City of Maryville, Missouri.
3.
Table R301.2(1). The following insertions shall be made in the
chart which is contained in the foregoing Section of the International
Residential Code, 2018 Edition:

A. Building:
1.
One-story detached accessory structures used as tool and storage
sheds, playhouses and similar uses, provided the floor area does not
exceed one hundred twenty (120) square feet.
3.
Water tanks supported directly upon grade if the capacity does
not exceed five thousand (5,000) gallons and the ratio of height to
diameter or width does not exceed two (2) to one (1).
4.
Platforms, decks and porches not more than thirty (30) inches
above grade at any point and not over any basement or story below
and which are not part of an accessible route.
5.
Painting, papering, tiling, carpeting, cabinets, countertops
and similar finish work.
6.
Temporary motion picture, television and theater stage sets
and scenery.
7.
Prefabricated swimming pools accessory to a Group R-3 occupancy,
which are less than twenty-four (24) inches deep.
8.
Shade cloth structures constructed for nursery or agricultural
purposes and not including service systems .
9.
Swings and other playground equipment accessory to one- and
two-family dwellings.
10.
Window awnings supported by an exterior wall of Group R-3 as
applicable in Section 101.2 and Group U occupancies.
11.
Movable cases, counters and partitions not over five (5) feet
nine (9) inches in height.

Section M1501.1 Outdoor discharge shall be adopted except that
the sentence, "Air shall not be exhausted into an attic, soffit, ridge
vent or crawl space" shall be deleted thereof.

A. Section P2906.4 Water Service Pipe, of the International Residential
Code, 2018 Edition, is deleted in its entirety.
B. Water Service Pipe. Water service pipe shall be only type K soft
drawn copper pipe or Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) plastic pipe of one
and one-fourth (1 1/4) inches and larger; SDR-21 two hundred (200)
psi shall be utilized for any underground installation of water piping.
Two hundred (200) psi high-density polyethylene pipe and tubing may
be used as a water service pipe on the customer side of the water
meter or valve. All plastic pipe and tubing shall be installed with
a single strand No. 12 AWG solid copper tracer wire. Any installation
of water service pipe shall comply with this Subsection and not the
standards listed in Table P2906.4 or P2906.5 of the International
Residential Code, 2018 Edition.

Section R112: Board of Appeals, of the International Residential Code, 2018 Edition, is deleted in its entirety. Any person aggrieved by a decision or action of the Code Enforcement Officer or other designee of the Department of Public Works under this Chapter may appeal such decision or action to the Board of Code Appeals. Such appeal shall be in accordance with the provisions of Sections
530.070,
530.080 and
530.090 and
530.110 of the Municipal Code of the City of Maryville and with Chapter
110 of the Municipal Code of the City of Maryville, all of which are adopted herein by reference as if set forth fully herein.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this Chapter or
any portion of the Code adopted in this Chapter shall be deemed guilty
of an ordinance violation and upon conviction thereof shall be fined
in an amount not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) or be imprisoned
in the City or County Jail for a period of not exceeding ninety (90)
days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day such violation
is committed or permitted to continue shall constitute a separate
offense and shall be punishable as such hereunder.
