A protest petition may be used to
protest a recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission on
a zoning district amendment (rezoning) or special use permit within
fourteen (14) days after the Planning and Zoning Commission makes
their recommendation, duly signed and acknowledged by the owners of
thirty percent (30%) or more of any real property to which the case
applies or by the owners of thirty percent (30%) of the total area,
excepting public streets and ways, located within one hundred eighty-five
(185) feet if located in the City of Mount Vernon municipal boundary.
Any person wishing to file a protest petition shall file it with the
office of the City Clerk.
