There is hereby established a Council for the Aging consisting of nine members appointed by the Select Board from the voters and residents of the Town.
Appointees shall hold office for a period of three years each so that three appointments shall expire annually.

The Town may appropriate funds for the use of the Council which shall be expended by the Council subject to the approval of the Select Board.

It shall be the duty of the Council to carry out programs designed to meet problems of the aging in coordination with programs of the Department of Elder Affairs.
