The purpose of this code is to provide minimum regulations,
provisions and requirements in the Village of Allouez to ensure safety
to persons and property, safe design, good workmanlike methods of
construction in any building constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired,
moved or demolished, to regulate the equipment maintenance, condition,
use, occupancy and safety of all buildings in the Village of Allouez,
and to promote the public health, safety and general welfare.
This Electrical Code shall apply to new structures and to alterations
and additions to existing structures within the Village of Allouez.
This chapter does not relieve or lessen the responsibility or
liability of any person owning, operating, controlling, or installing
any electrical equipment for damages to anyone injured or any property
destroyed by any defect therein, nor shall the Village be held as
assuming any such liability for or by property destroyed by any defect
therein, nor shall the Village be held as assuming any such liability
by reason of the inspection authorized or certificate of inspection
issued as provided in this chapter.

A. General. No certificate of inspection shall be issued unless the
electrical installation and all other electric apparatus connected
with it are in conformity with the provisions of this chapter and
the rules and regulations of the Wisconsin State Electrical Code.
B. Approved material and fittings. All materials and fittings must conform
to Wisconsin Administrative code SPS 316.
C. Unsafe equipment. No person shall keep or offer for sale or sell
within the Village of Allouez any equipment or fixtures designed or
intended to be used for the production, transmission or utilization
of electrical current or power if said apparatus, equipment or fixtures,
when installed for use, would be in violation of any of the provisions
of this chapter or would be unsafe or dangerous.
E. Floodplain requirements. A means shall be provided for disconnecting
all ungrounded conductors above the foundation of a floodplain building
or structure, and may be located inside or outside of said building
or structure.
