[Ord. No. 661 §1, 12-11-2006]
A review of the present charges for water and sewerage by the
City indicates that a water rate increase and a sewerage rate increase
is necessary and in the best interests of the City and the health
and welfare of its citizens because of the condition of the water
mains and the increased costs of cleaning or replacing said mains,
valves and fire hydrants to increase water volume and flow for fire
protection and as further authorized by law. The increase in sewerage
charges is necessary because of the condition of the sewerage lines
and increased costs of maintaining said lines and is further authorized
by law.
