A seal or disc in a circular form with the words "Village of Granville, Putnam County, Ill" on the outer circle, and in the interior and center of the circle the words "Incorporated January 1, 1881," shall be the seal of the Village of Granville to be used in all cases that have been or shall hereafter be provided by the laws of the United States, the laws of the several respective states, and the ordinances of the Village of Granville, and in all cases in which, by laws and customs of corporations, it is necessary to use a seal by a corporation.
The Village Seal shall be and remain in the custody of the Village Clerk of the Village, to be used by the Clerk and the President as is provided in the preceding section.

The Village of Granville elects to participate in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund effective January 1, 1980. This is in accordance with Article 7 of the Illinois Pension Code, which provides that a municipality may elect to participate in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund by the adoption of a resolution or ordinance of its governing body.
