This article shall apply to building operations in an approved
subdivision and to all building operations other than the construction
of or additions to a single family residence and accessory buildings
thereto.

Either a temporary or permanent water supply for fire protection,
approved by the Fire Marshal, shall be made available not later than
the completion of the building foundation whenever said foundation
is more than 500 feet from the nearest operating fire hydrant.

Where a permanent water supply and hydrants are to be provided
for the building construction site, and are approved by the Fire Marshal,
they shall be installed, completed, and made available for permanent
use not later than the completion of the building foundation.

Access roads approved by the Fire Marshal for the use of emergency
vehicles shall be provided to the construction site at the start of
construction and maintained until all construction is completed whenever
the building under construction is located more than 500 feet from
the nearest highway.

Free access to an approved water supply shall be maintained
at all times during construction operations and no materials or other
obstructions shall be placed within 10 feet of a hydrant or between
a hydrant and an approved access road.

A special permit from the Town Manager may be obtained in lieu
of the requirements of this article due to unusual or extenuating
circumstances.
