Public notice of the time and place of the examination, together
with information as to the position(s) to be filled, shall be given
by publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the municipality.
The public notice shall be published at least two weeks prior to an
examination, and a copy of the notice shall be posted in the Municipal
Building. Additional public notice by publication, posting or otherwise
may be given at any time at the discretion of the Commission.
In addition to the public announcement of the examination, the
Borough Secretary shall give written notice to each applicant deemed
eligible after successfully completing the written examination as
follows:
A. By mailing or otherwise delivering to each applicant who has scored
among the top in the written examination the date, time, and place
of the interview.
B. The maximum number selected to be interviewed shall be determined
by multiplying the number of vacancies by six. Those selected will
include the applicants scoring at the top of the written examination
plus others who have Act 120 certification and a passing score.
C. Each notice shall be mailed or otherwise delivered at least five
days prior to the date fixed for the interview.
D. Failure to report for the oral interview in accordance with the written
instructions shall disqualify the applicant.
