There is hereby created the position of Township Historian.
The Township Historian shall serve without compensation, but
the governing body may annually appropriate such sums as may be necessary
to reimburse the Township Historian for expenses incurred in the performance
of the Township Historian's duties.
The Township Historian shall be appointed by the Township Committee
and shall serve at the pleasure of the Township Committee.
The elected Historian shall have the powers and responsibilities
set forth in N.J.S.A. 40:10A-7, including carrying out an historical
program, making an annual report, conducting historical research,
assisting any landmark commission, and assisting in projects of commemoration.
