§ 15-201 Maximum Speed Limits Established on Certain Streets.

1. Maximum speed limits are established on portions of specified streets, as follows, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle, on any part of a street where a maximum speed limit applies, at a higher speed than the maximum prescribed for that part of the street:

2. Any person who violates any provision of this section shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $35. Any person exceeding the maximum speed limit by more than five miles per hour shall pay an additional fine of $2 per mile for each mile in excess of five miles per hour over the maximum speed limit.

§ 15-202 One-Way Streets Established.

1. The following are established as one-way streets, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle on any one-way street other than in the direction established for traffic on that street:

§ 15-203 Turning at Certain Intersections Prohibited or Restricted.

1. It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle, of the type indicated, traveling upon the first-named street at any of the following intersections, in the direction or directions indicated in each case, to make a left turn and/or a right turn into the second-named street, as indicated, at any time when such a turn is prohibited by this section:

2. Any person who violates any provision of this section shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

§ 15-204 Right Turns Only Permitted at Certain Intersections.

1. It shall be unlawful for the drive of any vehicle, traveling upon the first-named street at any of the following intersections, in the direction or directions indicated in each case, to make other than a right turn, at any time stated, both left turns and straight-across traffic being prohibited:

§ 15-205 U-Turns Prohibited at Certain Locations.

1. It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle, traveling upon any of the following portions of streets, in the direction or directions indicated for that street, to make a U-turn:

§ 15-206 Stop Intersections Established.

1. The following intersections are established as stop intersections, and official stop signs shall be erected (or are ratified if previously erected) in such a position as to face traffic approaching the second-named street (the intersecting or through street) on the first-named street (the stop street) in the direction or directions indicated for that intersection. Every driver of a vehicle approaching the intersection on the first named or stop street, in the direction indicated in each case, shall stop the vehicle as required by Section 3323(b) of the Vehicle Code, and shall not proceed into or across the second-named or intersecting or through street until he has followed all applicable requirements of that section of the law.

2. Any person who violates any provision of this section shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

§ 15-207 Use of Skateboards Prohibited.

1. No person shall ride or otherwise be transported upon a skateboard or similar vehicle on one or more wheels, on which the rider stands, regardless of how the device is powered or propelled upon any highway.

2. It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in skateboarding or ride upon or propel any skateboard upon any sidewalk along Main Street from John Street on the west to Quarry Road on the east.

3. Any person who violates any provision of this section shall, upon conviction thereof:

A. First Offense. The skateboard used in violation of this section shall be impounded by the Police Department of the Borough for a period not exceeding 15 days. If a person violating this section is a minor, in addition to confiscation of the skateboard as aforementioned, the Borough Police shall notify the parents, guardian, or other person having legal custody of said minor of the violation of this section and the impounding of the skateboard.

B. Second and/or Subsequent Offense. The skateboard used in violation of this section for the second and/or subsequent time shall be impounded by the Police Department of the Borough for a period not exceeding 30 days and said person shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs. In the event said person is a minor, the skateboard of said minor shall be impounded for a period not to exceed 30 days and/or until such time as the parent, guardian, or other person having legal custody of said minor shall pay the fine of $25 and costs.

§ 15-208 Pedestrian Crosswalks Established.

1. Pedestrian crosswalks are hereby established within the Borough of Hummelstown at the following locations:

A. At the intersections of such streets within the Borough of Hummelstown as are designated with crosswalk markings.

2. Pedestrians, while in said crosswalks, shall be entitled to all rights given them under the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, Act of June 17, 1976, P.L. 162, as now or hereinafter amended, 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.
