As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
GARBAGE
Includes any offal or refuse of fish, fruit, vegetables or
animal matter or any other organic substance subject to fermentation
or decay and any putrid, filthy or offensive matter whatsoever which
may become a nuisance to any of the citizens or prejudicial to the
public health of the Township.
RUBBISH
Includes paper, rags, excelsior, straw, boxes, cartons, old
clothing, mattresses, old shoes, leather scrap, oil cloth, carpet,
Christmas trees, prunings from vines and any and all other inflammable
waste or discarded materials.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to
cast upon, place, discharge or deposit, or to cause or permit to be
cast upon, placed, discharged or deposited any garbage, rubbish, tin
cans, crockery ware, glass, ashes, junk metal into or upon any public
street, public highway, public or private alley, public or private
property, watercourse, or any other public or private places in the
said Township.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision
of this article, upon conviction thereof in an action brought before
a Magisterial District Judge in the manner provided for the enforcement
of summary offenses under the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure,
shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000 plus costs
and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment
not to exceed 90 days. Each day that a violation of this article continues
or each section of this article which shall be found to have been
violated shall constitute a separate offense.
