The City of Lake Mills, Jefferson County, Wisconsin, is organized and operated under the City Manager system of government, Chapter

The elected officials of the City shall be two Council members
elected from each of the City's Council Districts, one Council member

Requirements under the Code of Ethics and Statements of Interests are set forth in Chapter
71, Ethics, of this Code. In addition, all City officials, whether appointed or elected, are subject to other laws and their oaths of office. Explanations of duties and requirements of public office may be found by consulting the Wisconsin State Statutes, including but not limited to Ch. 19, General Duties of Public Officials, and §§ 946.10 through 946.18, Crimes Against Government and Its Administration; the City Council Orientation Manual, the Board and Committee Handbook, and the Handbook for Wisconsin Municipal Officials, which is published by the League of Wisconsin Municipalities. Appointment or election to public office carries duties and responsibilities about which each official needs to be aware, in addition to the power and authority conferred by the office to which the official is appointed or elected. The City Attorney may be consulted for information and training upon request.
