For purposes of this article, "shared street(s)" shall mean a street designated in Schedule XXI (§ 183-72) in which pedestrians, bicyclists, roller-bladers, skateboarders, human-powered scooters, and other non-vehicle traffic may travel in any direction along the street, and may access and use the street for purposes which do not prevent the travel of vehicles on the street.
While
travelling on a shared street, every driver of a vehicle shall exercise
due care to avoid colliding with any pedestrian, bicyclist, roller-blader,
skateboarder, human-powered scooter, or other non-vehicle upon any
roadway and shall give warning by sounding the horn when necessary
and shall exercise proper precaution upon observing any pedestrian,
bicyclist, roller-blader, skateboarder, human-powered scooter, or
other non-vehicle traffic upon a shared street.
In accordance with the provisions of § 183-71, the following described streets or parts of streets are hereby designated as shared streets:
