Composition.
The Village Plan Commission shall consist of the Village President,
who shall be its presiding officer, a Village Trustee and five citizens.
Citizen members shall be persons of recognized experience and qualifications.
The Village Trustee member of the Commission shall be elected by a
two-thirds vote of the Village Board in the month of April of each
year and shall take office on the succeeding first day of May. Citizen
members shall be appointed by the Village President to take office
on the succeeding first day of May, for a term of three years.
Powers
and duties. The Plan Commission shall have the powers and duties prescribed
in § 62.23, Wis. Stats., and all legislative enactments
amendatory thereof or supplementary thereto and such other powers
or duties as shall be vested in it from time to time by law or the
Village Board.

Election
to participate. It is hereby elected to participate in the Brown County
Community Relations – Social Development Commission in accordance
with § 66.0125, Wis. Stats., as said Commission has been
created by the County Board of Supervisors of Brown County on an inter-governmental
basis.
The purpose of the Commission is to study, analyze and recommend
solutions for the major social, economic and cultural problems which
affect people residing or working within the municipality, including,
without restriction because of enumeration, problems of the family,
youth, education, the aging, juvenile delinquency, health and zoning
standards, and discrimination in housing, employment and public accommodations
and facilities on the basis of class, race, religion or ethnic or
minority status.
Include within its studies problems related to pornography, industrial
strife and the inciting or fomenting of class, race, or religious
hatred and prejudice.
Recommend to the municipal governing body and the chief executive
or administrative officer the enactment of such ordinances or other
action as it deems necessary to establish and keep in force proper
health standards for the community and beneficial zoning for the community
area in order to facilitate the elimination of blighted areas and
to prevent the start and spread of such areas and to ensure to all
municipal residents, regardless of race or color, the rights to possess
equal housing accommodations and to enjoy equal employment opportunities.
Examine the need for publicly and privately sponsored studies and
programs in any field of human relationships which will aid in accomplishing
the foregoing objectives and initiate such public programs and studies
and participate in and promote such privately sponsored programs and
studies.
Fair housing ordinance. The ordinance creating a Brown County Commission on Equal Opportunities in Housing is now effective in the Village, and all persons herein are subject to the provisions of such ordinance and a violation of this ordinance shall be a violation of this Municipal Code subject to a penalty as provided in § 1-4.
