In order to provide for the health, safety, and welfare of the
residents of the Township, it will be required at all residential
and commercial properties prominently display identification numbers
which mark the location of the residents and businesses for fire,
police, ambulance, and other personnel involved in providing emergency
services.

1. Every business and residence within the Township shall be required
to display a house number consistent with a numbering system designed
by the Township Engineer and assigned by Code Enforcement Officer.
2. Each property owner within the Township shall permanently display
the house number designated for his or her business or residence in
a prominent place visible from the street not more than 50 feet from
the point where the driveway giving access to the premises intersect
with a Township or state road.
A. Numerals designating the house number shall be no less than four
inches high with a minimum stroke width of 1/2 inch.
B. House numbers must be numeric; by example, the words "Fifty-Eight"
are not permitted to designate the house number "58."
C. All house numbers shall be attached to a post, mail box, tree, or
other appropriate structure at a point no less than three feet from
ground level.
D. House numbers must be visible from both directions of travel from
the road way.
3. Property owners shall have 30 days from the date of notice of their
designated house number is mailed to display the number provided in
Subsection 2B above.
4. It shall be unlawful for any person owning property in the Township
to fail to display the house number designated for said premises as
provided herein. Any person who shall continue for a period in excess
of 10 days fail to display said number after receiving notice by certified
mail as provided herein shall be guilty of a summary offense and upon
conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $25
nor more than $1,000 plus costs and, in default of payment of said
fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 90 days. Each
day that a violation of this Part continues or each section of this
Part which shall be found to have been violated shall constitute a
separate offense.
5. Upon notification by the Code Enforcement Officer, the Fire Marshal,
the Police Department, or the fire company having jurisdiction of
the failure of a property owner to display a house number, the Township
Secretary will notify the property owner by certified mail of the
house number and the duty of the owner to display it as provided herein.
