The State Building Code is adopted by this Town Meeting with
amendments thereto as are presently on file in the Town Clerk's office.
No amendments to the State Building Code will become effective
until adopted by a Town Meeting or until state statute requires their
adoption.

A Board of Appeals be and it hereby is established to act upon
appeals from decisions of the Building Inspector. The Board shall
consist of five members all of whom shall meet the qualifications
set forth in the State Building Code, appointed by the Board of Selectmen.
No member of the Board of Appeals shall be disqualified by reason
of his membership on the Board of Appeals of another municipality.
Each member of the Board shall serve for a term of five years or until
his successor has been appointed, except that the first Board shall
be made up of members whose terms expire on the last day of June in
1974, 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1978 respectively. The Board of Selectmen
shall be empowered to fill any vacancy on the Board of Appeals by
designating a qualified person to serve as a temporary member or to
fill any unexpired term of a regular member.
The Board of Appeals shall select one of its members to serve
as Chairperson and the Building Inspector shall designate a clerk
to serve as Secretary to the Board, who shall keep a detailed record
of all proceedings of the Board on file in the offices of the Town
of Burlington.
No member of the Board shall pass on any question in which he
has any personal interest.
The members of the Board shall serve without compensation.
