The Commission for Seniors shall perform such duties and functions
as are provided in the General Statutes and shall study, continuously,
the conditions and needs of elderly persons in the community in relation
to housing, economics, employment, health, recreation and other matters.
It shall analyze the services for the aged provided by or for the
community, both by public and private agencies, and shall make recommendations
to the Board of Selectmen regarding the development and integration
of the services provided by public and private agencies, and shall
have the right to apply for available state and federal funding for
this purpose, all in cooperation with state and other jurisdictions
to the fullest extent possible. The Commission shall submit written
semi-annual reports to the Board of Selectmen.
The Commission for Seniors may organize itself in whatever manner it may determine in order to carry out to the fullest extent possible the duties set forth in §
7-1. The Commission shall meet at least once monthly, or at the call of the Chairman.
