The Public Building Commission shall appoint its own Chairman
and Secretary and establish its own rules and regulations for the
conduct of its meetings.
The Public Building Commission shall have the following powers
and duties, and upon the request of the Town Meeting or Board of Selectmen
the Commission shall:
A. Recommend
sites or locations for proposed public buildings or projects;
B. Conduct
studies of existing public buildings and improvements to determine
utility of existing use; adequacy of space; and the need, if any,
for alteration, addition, improvement or demolition;
C. Conduct
feasibility studies for the planning and construction of such new
buildings or improvements as may be proposed from time to time by
the Town Meeting or Board of Selectmen;
D. Recommend
an architect, where necessary, for each proposed building or building
project.
The Public Building Commission, in conducting its studies and
presenting its recommendations, if any, shall confer with the Planning
Commission, the Zoning Commission, and the Inland Wetlands Commission.
