In accordance with the Borough Code, the Mayor shall ascertain
and determine whether a snow emergency exists due to an accumulation
or impending accumulation of snow which constitutes or will constitute
a hazard for vehicular traffic upon the streets of the Borough of
Dallastown. When the Mayor considers that a state of snow emergency
exists, the Mayor shall issue a written proclamation, in accordance
with the Borough Code, which shall be made available to all news media,
declaring a state of snow emergency for a period not to exceed seven
days unless sooner rescinded, modified or ratified or extended by
resolution of the Dallastown Borough Council.
The parking of any vehicle (as defined in the Vehicle Code)
shall be prohibited during a declared state of snow emergency on the
roads or portions of roads designated as snow emergency routes.
If, at any time during a period of snow emergency declared under this article, a person shall park a motor vehicle or allow a motor vehicle to remain parked anywhere upon a snow emergency route, that person shall be guilty of a violation of this article and, upon conviction, shall be punishable as provided in §
212-28.1 of this chapter.
