As used in this Article, the following terms shall have these prescribed meanings:
BOAT
Any device capable of carrying people on the water, be it raft, inner tube, canoe or any other type of floating device.
ENFORCEMENT AGENTS
Any member of the Missouri Conservation Commission authorized to enforce game laws of the State of Missouri, the Chief of Police, any Police Officer of the City of Gallatin, Missouri, and/or any member of the Daviess County Sheriff's Department.
GAME FISH
Includes channels catfish, bass, bluegill and crappie.
JUG LINE
Any floating device, such as jug, bottle, etc., with hooks attached, which is baited and thrown into the water with the intention of catching fish.
LIMB OR BANK LINE
Any line that is set from a pole pushed into the bank or set from an overhanging limb and baited with the intention of catching fish.
PARK POND
That body of water located in the southeast area of Dockery Park near the tennis court.
POLE AND LINE
A straight pole, such as a cane pole, which is normally held in the hand, with line and hook attached.
ROD AND REEL
Fishing tackle normally held in the hand, such as a casting rod or fly rod with reel attached, and used to cast bait or artificial lures.
SHALL and MAY
"Shall" is mandatory and "may" is permissive.
THROW LINE
Any line with one (1) or more hooks that is fastened to the bank at one (1) end and with a weight attached to the other end so that line can be bated and thrown into the water with the intention of catching fish.
TREBLE HOOK
A single hook with three (3) or more separate barbs attached to one (1) common shank and eyelet.
TROT LINE
Any line with one (1) or more hooks which is set in the water and baited for the purpose of catching fish.

A. 
Fish may be taken from the park pond only by rod and reel or pole and line during the hours of 6:00 A.M. till 11:00 P.M., at which time the park closes.
1. 
No person shall use more than two (2) rods and reels or more than two (2) poles and lines or one (1) rod and reel and one (1) pole and line while fishing at park pond.
2. 
No rod and reel or pole and line shall contain more than one (1) hook, either straight or treble, except on artificial lures.
3. 
No hooks shall be left unattended overnight at the park pond.

A. 
All bass and channel catfish less than fifteen (15) inches in total length that are caught shall be returned to the water unharmed immediately after being taken from the park pond.
1. 
Total length is measured from the tip of the snout to the end of the tail, with the fish laid flat on the rule with the mouth closed and tail lobes pressed together. The head and tail must be left attached to the fish as long as the fish is on park property.
2. 
Regardless of where taken, no fish less than the specified minimum length limit shall be possessed in the park pond area.
3. 
Fish shall not be cleaned, skinned or gutted near the pond or on park property.

Daily limit of fish taken by legal means at park pond shall be no more than two (2) bass at least fifteen (15) inches long and no more than two (2) channel catfish at least fifteen (15) inches in length and no more than twelve (12) bluegill of any size.

No person or persons shall attempt to take or take fish from the park pond by use of trout line, throw line, limb or bank line, jug line, net or seine of any kind.
B. 
No persons or person shall use any electrical device, explosive, poison or chemical to kill, attempt to kill or stupefy fish or take or attempt to take fish by rock or hand fishing, with or without a hook, and no person shall attempt to take or take fish from the park pond by snagging or gigging. No fish traps or minnow traps of any kind shall be used in the park pond.

A. 
No person shall bring any fish from outside the park pond area and put them into the pond. No person shall introduce gar, carp, buffalo, shad, bullheads, flatheads or green sunfish into the park pond.
B. 
Minnows being used for bait shall not be dumped into the pond at any time. No small carp, shad, buffalo, bullheads or green sunfish shall be used as bait at the park pond at any time.

No boats of any type shall be used on the pond and at no time shall any such boat be used for fishing purposes, except that the Mayor by special proclamation and/or resolution may allow the use of boats for special civic events.

There shall be absolutely no swimming or wading of any kind in the park pond.

Any authorized Missouri State Conservation Agent, Sheriff, Chief of Police or their deputies shall have the authority to enforce any and all Sections of this Article.

The Gallatin Chief of Police or any Gallatin Police Officer shall see that all Sections of this Article are enforced. They shall have the right to request to see proper licenses, to check length and daily limits of fish in possession of any person whom they reasonably assume is fishing at park pond. They shall also check legality of fishing tackle and to arrest any person who is in violation of any Sections of this Article.
