Those persons who have on or before June 15, 1972, obtained from the Clerk of the City of Gallatin a license for the operation of a junkyard and have complied with the regulations hereafter stated shall be excepted from the requirements of Section
217.030 as it applies to land located within the City limits not owned by the City.

The Clerk of the City of Gallatin shall charge an annual fee of ten dollars ($10.00) for the issuance of the license required in Section
605.150.

Prior to the issuance of any license
for a junkyard, the Chief of Police of the City of Gallatin shall
certify to the Clerk of the City of Gallatin that the junkyard is
screened from public view by a fence of at least eight (8) feet in
height, and that the contents of the junkyard do not endanger the
health or welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Gallatin.

Any junkyards established after the effective date of this Article shall receive the approval of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Gallatin as to the location of the junkyard prior to the issuance of the license provided in Section
605.170.
