The International Plumbing Code, 2012 Edition, published by
the International Code Council, Inc., is hereby adopted by reference
and made part of this article as though set out in full herein; provided
that whenever any provisions of the International Plumbing Code shall
conflict with the provisions of the City Code or any other City ordinance,
the provisions of the City Code or such City ordinance shall govern.
One copy of the Plumbing Code shall be on file at the office of the
Municipal Clerk and available for public inspection at any reasonable
time. The provisions of the Plumbing Code shall be controlling throughout
the municipality and throughout its zoning jurisdiction.
The International Plumbing Code, 2012 Edition, is amended and
changed in the following respects:
A. Chapter
1, Scope and Administration.

Section 101, General; 101.1, Title. Insert: "City of Seward,
Nebraska."
(2)
Section 106, Permits.
(a)
106.6.2, Fee Schedule. Fees for the following shall be set from
time to time by the City Council.

Section 107, Inspections and Testing. Add to Section 107.4:
Exceptions. In cases where it would be impractical
to provide the aforementioned water or air tests, or for minor installations
and repairs, the administrative authority, at its discretion, may
make such inspections as it deems advisable in order to assure itself
that the work has been performed in accordance with the intent of
this code. The administrative authority may waive the requirement
for any water or air test; however, it shall be contractor's
responsibility to assure that all systems installed are free from
any leakage.

Section 108, Violations.
(a)
Section 108.4.
[1] Violations. Insert "misdemeanor" for specific offense.
[2] Penalties.
[b] Insert: "six months" for number of days.
(b)
Section 108.5, Stop work orders. Insert: $100 for "not less
than" amount; and $500 for "or more than" amount.

Section 109, Means of Appeal, is repealed (see Article
XIV).
B. Chapter
3, General Regulations; Section 305, Protection of Pipes and Plumbing System Components; Section 305.4.1, Sewer depth: (See Seward County requirements for private sewage disposal.)
C. Chapter
6, Water Supply and Distribution; Section 608, Protection of Potable Water Supply; Section 608.6, Cross-connection control. Replace: Cross-connection control shall be provided per Chapter
390, Water, Article
II, Backflow and Cross-Connections, of the Seward Municipal Code.
D. Chapter
7, Sanitary Drainage; Section 710, Drainage System Sizing. Add:
Section 710.3 Size of drainage piping
The minimum size of the main horizontal drainage pipe shall
be four inches, and additional, in the case of vertical drainage pipes,
in accordance with their length.
E. Chapter
9, Vents; Section 903, Vent Terminals; Section 903.1, Roof extension. Insert: 12 inches.
