As used in this Article, the following terms shall have these
prescribed meanings:
CAMPGROUND
Collective designated camping areas around Lawson City Lake.
CAMPSITE
Five designated subareas in the Campground marked individually.
LAWSON LAKE
Lawson City Lake owned by the City of Lawson and the lands
around the lake owned by the City of Lawson, including but not limited
to boat docks, parking lots, and campgrounds.

A. Camping at Lawson City Lake is prohibited except in campsites pursuant
to a camping permit issued by the City Clerk.
B. Camping in violation of Subsection
(A) is an ordinance violation subject to the penalty subscribed by Section
230.170.

A. The City Clerk shall issue a camping permit upon application and
payment of a fee by an individual or group. Each camping permit shall
pertain to a designated campsite and will be for a specific number
of camping days, not to exceed fifteen (15) camping days. Camping
permits shall be issued by the City Clerk only to a person over the
age of eighteen (18), who shall have responsibility for supervising
the conduct of all persons in his/her party. Camping permits shall
be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. The City Clerk will
refrain from issuing a camping permit for campsite #1 unless the applicant
certifies that a member of his/her party has a disability requiring
accommodation or unless camping permits have been issued for all other
campsites for the day(s) requested.
B. The fee for camping at a Lawson City Lake Campsite is twelve dollars
($12.00) per night.
C. A camping permit is a revocable license for the permittee and the other members of the permittee's party to use a campsite in accordance with this Article. In the event that a camping permit is revoked in accordance with Section
230.170, the fees are non-refundable.
D. No person who has had a camping permit revoked in accordance with Section
230.170 may receive another camping permit within a year of such revocation. After one (1) year, the City Clerk, at his/her discretion, may continue to refuse issuance of a camping permit to a person who has had a camping permit revoked in accordance with Section
230.170.

A. Camping days begin at 3:00 P.M. each day. Checkout time for all campers
is 2:00 P.M. on the last day for which the camping permit is issued.
Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 P.M. until 6:00 A.M. During quiet
hours, campers must refrain from operating generators, radios, televisions,
musical instruments, and any and all devices which create excessive
noise. All non-camping visitors must leave the campground during quiet
hours.
B. Each campsite has a capacity limit of eight (8) persons. All persons
under the age of eighteen (18) must be accompanied by a parent or
legal guardian.
C. Pop-ups, motor homes, vans, or wheeled vehicles are prohibited on
the campsites. All vehicles must be kept on paved or graveled surfaces.
D. The campsites are for tent camping only. Each campsite is limited
to two (2) sleeping tents. Trenching the campsite and/or digging anywhere
on the campground is prohibited.
E. Picking or digging up plants, disturbing or feeding animals, and
scavenging dead wood on the campground is prohibited.
F. Hanging lanterns or any other items from or in trees, littering,
or discharging sewage or gray water on the campground is prohibited.
G. Electric insect-killing devices and temporary swimming pools on the
campground is prohibited.
H. Solicitation on the campground is prohibited.
I. Firearms, BB guns, paintball guns, bow and arrows, sling shots and
all other projectile devices that have a propensity to inflict harm
are strictly prohibited on the campground. Fireworks or other explosive
materials are strictly prohibited on the campground.
J. Fires are permitted only within the fire rings or provided grills
for each campsite; however, fires are prohibited on the campground
when a burn ban has been issued by the Lawson Fire Department. It
is the responsibility of all campers to comply with any burn ban orders.
Burn ban orders shall be posted on a public information board located
at the entrance to the camping area. Burning of trash is prohibited
on the campground.
K. No more than two (2) dogs are allowed per campsite. Dogs must be
kept on a leash no longer than ten (10) feet and must be kept under
control at all times. Campers are responsible for collecting and properly
disposing of waste created by their dogs.
L. Drinking or carrying an open container of intoxicating liquor, malt
liquor, or non-intoxicating beer within the campground does not constitute
drinking in public and is not a violation of Section 225.200 of the
Code of Ordinances. Drinking or carrying a container of intoxicating
liquor, malt liquor, or non-intoxicating beer within twenty (20) feet
of the lake or upon a boat is prohibited and may constitute a violation
of Section 225.200 of the Code of Ordinances.

A. No person shall deliberately or negligently destroy, deface, damage,
impair or remove any part of the campsite, or related facilities;
Lawson City Lake, its shoreline, wildlife (except for permitted fishing),
trees or other vegetation other than grass on the campsite.
B. It is the responsibility of the camping permit holder to ensure that
the campground is respected and maintained. Any appreciable damage
to the campsite, its related facilities; Lawson City Lake, its shoreline,
wildlife, trees, or other vegetation resulting from the conduct of
the camping permit holder, his/her party, or his/her visitors is the
responsibility of the camping permit holder. The camping permit holder
will be billed and responsible for the expense to repair any damage
caused by his/her actions, the actions of his/her party, or the actions
of his/her visitors.

Failure to comply with the rules and regulations articulated
in this Article may result in the revocation of a camping permit by
a law enforcement officer without reimbursement of any fee paid. In
the event that a camping permit has been revoked, the camping party
must leave Lawson City Lake immediately.
